Today in 1st grade we worked REALLY hard in both reading and math! We practiced some counting strategies and explored new math manipulatives. We also practiced silent reading. Our class was able to read silently and independently for 5 minutes. Our goal is to read silently and independently for 10 minutes next week- we will keep working hard on our reading stamina! Today we were also able to explore the wonderful courtyard space right outside our back door! Tomorrow we have a school wide assembly in the morning, a fun "All About Me!" project to learn even more about each other, and another chance to explore our outdoor spaces with other 1st grade friends.

What an amazing day together in 1st grade! We received THREE class compliments in the hall and specials today, earning our class a golden apple towards our PBIS class reward! We spent the day learning about each other, our classroom, and a few of the materials we will be using throughout the year. Day two will be just as wonderful! I can't wait to see all 17 smiling faces tomorrow morning :)
