What an amazing week we had in first grade! We learned about our classroom, played with each other, and laughed a lot. Please take a look at the newsletter "A Peek at Our Week in Room 37" to hear more about what we did this week! You can always find the newsletter in two places, here on our blog and in your child's folder on Fridays.
This year, Orchard School "revamped" our PBIS (positive behavior interventions and supports) program called The Core Project. Our NEW Core Values are "Be Kind, Be Safe, Be Your Best!" When a student is following our Core Values an adult can give them an Apple Card that states our Core Values on it. We add the Apple Card to a 100 chart and when our class gets 100 apples in the chart, we earn a celebration! On Friday we filled our chart for the first time! Stay tuned to hear what we vote on as a class for our celebration :) As a reminder, Curriculum Night is Thursday, September 5th from 6:00-6:30 PM. I will give a short presentation about our first grade curriculum, explain each part of our day, and answer any questions. I look forward to seeing you there! Enjoy the long weekend! Miss Goodrich

Thanks to all who came to Open House! I can't wait to see all 17 students tomorrow morning for our first day of first grade!
Miss Goodrich (and Carter, too!) Our classroom is coming together! I hope you remembered your Core Values this summer! Can you find your name on our classroom door?
